Storytelling can be effective when it focuses on positive behaviours, on exemplars. We need to avoid reliance on negative examples (though they are at times necessary) as they can sometimes have the unintended effect of making unethical behaviour seem widespread and normal. Positive authentic stories can have a long and impactful life, passed on to newcomers and discussed in formal and informal settings.
