Registration keeps the door open

Registration on departure is a way for former police officers to stay connected and is the first step to returning to employment with Victoria Police.

People leave for various reasons such as to pursue other careers or take a break for personal or family reasons, often with a plan to return. This is common in many occupations.

Registration helps keep the door open for capable Victoria Police officers to return.

Police officers can apply up to 3 months before they intend to leave. Registration on departure only requires a one-page application and turnaround time is much quicker than the current external application process.

The PRSB undertakes an independent assessment of a member's qualification for registration based on their current substantive rank and service record. Registration takes effect after the member's departure.

If you or someone you know is planning to leave Victoria Police, consider the fast track registration option.
