Expression of Interest

The Minister for Police, the Hon Lisa Neville MP, is pleased to invite applications for sessional members of the Review Division of the Police Registration and Services Board (the Board) from former members of Victoria Police, or other police force.

Under the Victoria Police Act 2013, the Review Division hears and decides certain employment related matters affecting members of Victoria Police including:

  • Appeals against promotion and transfer decisions; and
  • Reviews of decisions relating to discipline outcomes (including dismissal) and other employment decisions.

Sessional members will be required to conduct procedurally fair hearings, write concise and clear decisions, and attend Board meetings. They may also participate in project work, depending on their skills and experience. Hearings are currently held in the Melbourne CBD.

Alongside contemporary policing experience, applications are encouraged from people with experience in tribunals or administrative decision making, legal practice or human resource management (recruitment, workplace investigations). An understanding of human rights and workplace issues would be an advantage.
