About the Police Registration and Services Board

The Police Registration and Services Board (PRSB) is an independent statutory body established under the Victoria Police Act 2013 (‘the Act’).

The Board has the following functions:

  • Registration: registering eligible persons on the Police Profession Register, maintaining the Register and responding to requests for advice from the Chief Commissioner on proposed appointments of unregistered former members of Victoria Police;
  • Professional Standards: supporting, promoting and advising the Chief Commissioner about education and practice standards and continuing professional development of Victorian police officers, protective services officers and police reservists;
  • Review: hearing and determining appeals and conducting reviews; and
  • General functions as identified by the Act.
